Mary Kay Andrews has given us another well-written novel that rolls out excitement, mystery, intrigue, romance along with beautiful scenery and gentle moments where joy springs up in simple everyday actions. Very well done! The High Tide Club is established in 1941 when four teenage girls go skinny dipping during a full moon on Talisa Island. The daughters and granddaughters of Josephine, Millie, Ruth & Varina continue to tradition in 2018. Their lives are told in a series of flashbacks that reveal the norms for both eras - how much has changed for women regardless of race. You meet 34 yr old Brooke, determined to be self-supporting, independent, as a lawyer and single mother she has a lot on her plate. Meet Josephine, 99, determined to right a lifetime of wrongs before cancer wins. The men in their lives are as diverse as the women in their temperaments and actions.
