This is a pleasant "caper" novel. The central character is a young novelist, Mercer Mann, who finds herself drafted to help a mysterious organization try to recover stolen rare manuscripts. The character of older Bruce Cable, a Florida bookseller who "dabbles" in stolen rare books is presented with a mix of admiration / wish fulfillment and without anything which would draw the reader to root for him. At times, an interesting look at the world of 1) booksellers, 2) writers, and 3) beachcombers. Not a thriller, legal or otherwise.
