I liked Davis Bunn's THE PATMOS DECEPTION. As a thriller it's a little weak and undramatic. As a mystery, the story line is great. As a book that portrays what is happening in Greece since the collapse of its economy, it is fascinating. And its characters are both interesting, varied, and each with some hint of mystery involved. The main characters are all flawed in terms of their relationship building skills, but that adds nicely to a hint of future romance for some couple. The book leaves you hanging at the end as to which who winds up with who - but hey, that's not so bad.
