As an avid reader of Hoag and past writing's, this was a very tough book to read and now comments due to: although she touches upon current social issues, and concerns teens face such as bullying, gay rights, belonging, social media, pedio- phlia, divorced parents; the storyline teeters on being for teens, and teen interactions with dialogue ala Nancy Drew, while trying to sustain the adult tale of psychotic crimes and killers.
