The best TV drama series since Prison Break. Intelligent, clever, with much philosophical and moral depth – and ever so timely. Produced after the Manning / Assange revelations, it definitely takes the right position. And considering the more recent Snowden revelations, it is more relevant than ever. Imaginative plots and subplots with typical characters: corrupt politicians, cops, FBI, CIA, and so on. True to life for sure. Nothing new here but they are gutsy to present it so explicitly. Often strains credulity but it is TV. Main character, Reese, is played coldly and robotically which is perfect. After all, these groups have been trained to kill, and kill they do. .Most other characters are played well; one exception is Carter (the “honest” cop). That voice is like chalk on a blackboard. Lots of blood and violence as expected but does not detract from the story. Soundtrack is eclectic and perfectly suited to the drama. For example, Nina Simone ‘s version of Sinnerman and David Bowie singing I Hate Americans. How much better can you get? A must-see series, especially for those who still believe that the government and its paid killers are here to help you.
