A really, really enjoyable read from the masterfully devious Deaver. The book was written in 2001 and though it may seem dated, I think it exhibits a certain prescience. Just when you think you have it figured out, Deaver blows up the plot in your face and blows you away. It's off the beaten track for the author but it's delightful and delectable.

I really enjoyed this book. If you're into computers you will probably find something to appeal to you in it. Fast-paced, interesting plot, and a pretty good unexpected turn at the end

I like the author but can't relate to
cyberspace, so suggest patrons
read the description first.

Fans of Jeffery Deaver ? and those who haven't yet had the pleasure of enjoying his books ? will definitely add this novel to their "recommended reading" list. An excellent thriller that takes readers into the world of computers and the subculture known only to hackers (or krackers). Not at all techno-heavy ? anyone who's ever booted up a Mac or PC and run a program or cruised the Internet will be familiar with the computer jargon used in the novel. Of course, the book comes complete with all the twists and turns and unexpected outcomes that Deaver readers love in his books. But hurry ? like the technology it's based on, the book itself may become outdated: characters loading software to thwart a virus still use 3.5" floppy discs? no CD discs, 2G flashes or USB ports.
