Add a CommentSUMMARY: The animals are up to something again. Farmer Brown just knows it. In the barn late at night, unbeknownst to Farmer Brown, they practice their talents for the county fair talent show. They work their hardest until the day they are loaded up for the fair by Farmer Brown and enter the contest. The animals do their best, but it is Duck who saves the day.
ILLUSTRATIONS: The illustrations are nicely spaced and detailed in this Click Clack book. They are funny and the facial expressions add to the humor.
REVIEW: I began laughing from the very first page upon reading this book. The animals trying to sing at all is quite humorous and so much of their personalities show through. Cronin throws in a few disclaimers at the bottom of some of the pages that will have the adult readers laughing even if the kids don't get it. I also like that this book is more positive than some of the others. No one gets hurt in the process of the animals getting what they want. There are lots of animal sounds younger kids will enjoy saying while you read. I highly recommend this book as a laugh out loud funny read!
AGE RECOMMENDATION: Advertised for ages 4-8
The farm animals have a plan and Farmer Brown is going to play right into their hooves and flippers.
