For me this is by far the best of the quartet but still waiting for Briar’s Book. The ending was beautiful, full of love, generosity, friendship and acceptance. Thank you Ms. Pierce

Not the best of Pierce's Circle of Magic Books. But it does develop several characters to a greater degree.

The picture shown above is the wrong book cover! (or was if it changes by the time you are reading this)

I love this book. When Briar's connection to his old life makes him question himself and who he is. He does not give in to the troubles that befall him.

I found this book pretty good, it didn't grab my attention right away, but Tamora Pierce spun a nice tale. I think I'd enjoy the other books in the series more, as Daja (the main character) didn't connect well with me. I think it was well written and a decent read overall.
