DC's Icons and author collaborations might just be one of the best things they've ever done. I really have never been a superhero fanatic but the plethora of writing styles used in these novels astonish me each time. Here, we get an in depth look into Selina's story as Catwoman. How she goes from a young impoverished girl to Gotham's notorious criminal. But what if she has a secret? Read on!

I was really looking forward to this one. What I failed to fully realize was the fact that Catwoman is in essence in league with the bad guys. Maas does a good job in making Selina Kyle likable and casting her in a sort of Robin Hood light. In the end, though, we have to accept that the ends justify the means and I just can't go there.

This is, quite literally, the best book in the genre that I have ever read. It combines the badassedness of Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn into a terrific story packed with romance, plenty of action, and morals (although those are skippable). Sarah J. Maas really knows how to make a plot so epic and yet so tragic as well, and the end is simply amazing. I particularly like the parts where Batwing and Catwoman's alter egos, Luke Fox and Holly Vanderhees, are flirting, but then it switches to nighttime and the vigilante/criminals are into each other, as well.

For those who enjoyed this book, I'd recommend the works of Richelle Mead, Naomi Novik, Rachel Hartman, Marie Rutkoski, Sabaa Tahir, Audrey Coulthurst, Cassandra Clare, Leigh Bardugo, Ann Aguirre, and Roshani Chokshi.

Dive into the dark side of Gotham with Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J Maas. This is a dark and gritty origin tale of Catwoman, but it also shows that Catwoman has a human side too. Not all readers will probably agree with Sarah J Maas's protrayal of Catwoman, but I still enjoyed reading this book.

I thought this book was boring. I enjoyed seeing the different villains of Gotham in the storyline though. I skipped ahead 200 pages and still knew what was happening in the story.
