As someone who suffers from a disability I found this film to be educational, entertaining and beautifully sweet.

Which is better: The Theory of Everything or Breathe? Both hi-tone/romantic Brit dramas about disability against all odds. KUDOS to Andy Serkis, that creature in LOTR, now first time director.

This is what a Merchant Ivory Chick Flick would look like complete with sweeping English countrysides, stiff upper-lipped perseverance, and a rousing musical score. Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield put in convincing performances and the Brideshead Revisited sets are easy on the eye. First time director Andy Serkis does tug at the heartstrings a few too many times however (that ending!) but the fact that it is based on a true story cuts it a bit of slack.
