Cooking Channel star Augusta “Gus” Simpson is on the brink of life changes---she’s turning 50 and feeling pressure from Cooking Channel Execs to boost the ratings of her “Cooking with Gusto” television show. Although widowed and left with two young daughters years before, she survived and created a highly successful career for herself. But now the stakes are high, and the former Miss Spain, Carmen Vega, isn’t the least bit impressed or afraid of Gus. She wants her own cooking show and if it means taking away Gus’, so be it. Jacobs invites readers into a fun, foodie world where the characters are every bit as delicious as the food. Comfort Food is a book you’ll rush home to you’ll be a little sad when it’s over.
