Nice compilation of Stevie Wonder songs. I was sort of wondering, what has Stevie been doing lately? Maybe he has retired? He played at the Obama inauguration and at Etta James' funeral in 2012, so hopefully he is taking it easy and enjoying life. Stevie recorded his first album at the age of 13 and this CD opens with several Little Stevie Wonder songs - "Fingertips (Part 2)," "I Was Made to Love Her," "For Once in My Life," "Signed Sealed Delivered I'm Yours." On to classics like "Superstition." Followed by several songs from his brilliant album Innervisions. I need to borrow that one, think my copy is warping with the rest of my vinyl! That album has "Higher Ground" & "Living For the City." This compilation is a good overview of Stevie's work, be sure to check out some of his other albums.
Born in 1950, Stevie Wonder (birth-name - Stevland Hardaway Morris) is a truly multi-talented entertainer who, time and again, has been voted one of the most creative and beloved musical performers of the 20th Century.
Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Stevie Wonder's blindness occurred shortly after his birth (which was 6 weeks premature).
A 25-time Grammy Award winner, Wonder's career as a first-rate performer of pop, soul and jazz began at the early age of 11. Today (at the age of 65) he is considered to be one of the top male, recording artists of all-time. His records have sold over 100 million copies, worldwide.
This "Best Of" CD is an excellent collection of 21 of Wonder's most memorable songs that were all recorded between the years of 1963-1985. Three of my favourites in this compilation are - I Was Made To Love Her, Superstition, and, That Girl.
Classic, energetic and melodic. These make great lullabies too.
